Here are some sick tips for when you are selling yourself to a customer for SEO
Watch this video from SEOmoz

SEOmoz - SEO Software

Be sure to explain these key points in your SEO pitch

Key Points:
1. Acknowledge the snake oil salesman - meaning those who do SEO that do a poor job of service. Be sure to explain and give evidence as to why you are not one of them.

2. Strategies are easy but tactics are hard - understanding the strategies and concepts of SEO are easy enough but executing them and putting them into action is a little more difficult and time consuming

3. PPC + SEO = Top Of the Conversion Tunnel - by implementing both of these strategies you will maximize the conversion rate, compared to just using one by itself.

Rebuttals you may face:
1. "SEO Takes Too Long!"
True but not for on-page optimization focus on that at first, such as installing a site map if they do not already have one. You will results from this in about a weeks time.
2. "It will happen organically"
The Truth is it won't.
3. "I'm too busy"
This may be true as it takes time and effort to learn and implement SEO but the good news is there are plenty of qualified people out there who are willing to do it for you, and the money to be made with SEO far outweighs the price to do it!
